GETTING YOU TO FEEL YOUR BEST

Jessie started Athletic Training and Recovery, LLC (ATR) to offer people of all ages and activity levels her expert services to help decrease pain and injury, and to help people continue to perform at their best.  Through her 16+ years in the profession and experiences, Jessie developed a passion for helping her athletes recover and enhance their performance using her various skills in manual therapy and injury prevention exercise.
Growing up in Michigan, she participated in nearly every sport available.   She graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in athletic training, and went on to receive a master's degree in exercise physiology from Eastern Michigan University.  Throughout her education and career, she had the opportunities to work beside Hall of Fame inducted athletic trainers, as well as multiple professional teams, including the MLB Detroit Tigers Minor League clubs, and WNBA Detroit Shock.  She also completed a rotation at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA gaining experience with USA Rugby, USA Track and Field, as well as various Paralympic athletes.
She spent 2+ years working in her hometown physical therapy clinic where she was able to learn and progress her manual therapy and rehabilitative skills.  She is trained in various forms of manual therapy modalities, including IASTM and cupping techniques.  She recently received her certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in order to continue her passions of improving corrective exercise for chronic injuries and improve post-injury return to play outcomes.
She has spent the last 14 years working in the collegiate setting, with the later 12 at Norfolk State University, with primary responsibilities working with the men's basketball and football programs.  Her success in the programs helped bring the Spartans to multiple championships and historic post season appearances. 
At ATR you can receive services to aid in recovery from injury, general exercise recovery for the body, and increase mobility. With her extensive background in injury prevention and rehabilitation, her personal training services can help you recover and feel more confident in returning back to activity following injury.
